Do bernd remember in what war, what battle, happened that engagement in which spartan soldiers took up the arms of fallen allied soldiers to disguise themselves so they would be given battle only for them to be defeated? I tried to ask AIs but they are amazingly dumb. Disapointed in them again.

>>25762121 It was in a battle against other greeks. They took up the arms from fallen allied soldiers so the enemies wouldn't know they were spartans and would give battle to them.

Are you talking about the Battle of Leuctra - between Sparta and Thebes - during the Boetian war?

>>25765168 I don't know, it might not be the right answer. The Battle of Lechaeum - during the Corinthian War - or the Battle of Sphacteria - during the Peloponnesian War - may have been what he was talking about. He really didn't give any specific details, and I don't think it is cogent that the Spartans would just fight more, just for the shits and giggles - I suppose he is mixing up reality with fiction.
