He also seems to hate the private-state fusion of lobbying elites pushing for global military interventionism. Which is strange, considering his own claims on foreign assets and religious support for israel. But he is also against core beliefs of the blob, like starting a war "for democracy" (which never is the real reason), or against inflating military spending to pay kickbacks to washington suburbs, or against playing cold war when it has ended.
I think he is a merchant, even le happy merchant to a degree, but a tough merchant nevertheless. 'ate the fake jobs, 'ate the freeloading bureaucrat scum, 'ate the cold war aristocracy, luv me israel, luv me international trade, luv me optimal spending. Doesn't want to create chaos abroad for the sake of invading the chaos later, wants to actually stop the chaos to trade and make money.
And he sees US is not as rich as it should be/used to be.
