I've been there. Lots of Jewish people, money laundering, and there's a mosque in the southernmost tip of the area.
Also macacos on the top of the rock. I went up there on a little cart thing and witnessed some Russian tourist girls get jumped by monkeys trying to steal food from her bags.

It's just strange that they let go of almost all their holdings all over the world but in europe they still cling to this small port that they got in a war of agression.
