I like it but for some reason the whole city feels like it's on its last legs. Seeing ghost towns like Dolan Springs really reminds you what's going to happen.

It's an odd city. Great for entertainment, shows, drugs, coke, sex. Public school system sucks. Explosive growth with a huge number of homes being built. Largely service industry. World class restaurants that rival NYC, Los Angeles (not joking). It's becoming a second city to Los Angeles, if anything. The city originally was built by the Italian mob. Nowdays it's controlled by Jews, Arab-Jews, Indian reservations, regular corporations, and Mormons. Huge Asian population these days. Large number of filipinos. Largest number of Hawaiians outside of Hawaii.

Compared to what you see in the (old) movies it seems like a dead now

I missed out on the cheap plentiful all you could eat buffets they used to have. Like some were as low as 99 cents to stuff yourself to the gills. It was insane. Now everything there is super expensive. No cheap fun to be had. I don't gamble so the fact it has tons of cheap attractions and cheaper food was the main draw of the city. Now it's overpriced even if you don't gamble. A trip there would easily wipe out several months of my wages. Too expensive.
