It's a more narrative driven story than Iliad. Iliad has the trojan horse, the gods fighting amongst each other, and bro romance. They are oral poems though. Most translations in English turn the poetry into prose. The Aeneid though. That's an epic poem where someone gets PTSD and goes mania

A ton of media make allusions and references to classic stories like these. It isn't great by itself but you'd have a (slightly) greater understanding of literature as a whole if you read it.
