Your mom enjoyed reading my penis even though it was long and hard. It has many twists and there's a surprise ending.

there was a thread recently about what books you have read, don't have original but these are the proportions of what I have read of them. I'm a quitter. I would recommend Iliad and Odyssey for enjoyable reading along with only maybe 5 others.

>>25635489 if they are slivers, that means I only read a sliver. except the Iliad, it was either tied or paired with something? dunno my point was I would rate them very high even with the barriers due to age and translations. Nothing else ancient on the list was enjoyable, I wouldn't even recommend anything else on it (that I've ackshually read) that is over 200 years old except for educational purposes

the iliad fucking sucked i dont get why this is considered great literature and groundwork for european hero stories "the greeks came along and slaughtered the trojans, but then hector gave an inspiring speech and the trojans started slaughtering the greek then the greeks became furious because their friends died and slaughtered the trojans then the trojans became furious because the greeks approached their city and started slaughtering the greeks then achilles stopped being mad at his friends and with his help the greeks started slaughering the trojans ..." just this shit, back and forth, for pages and pages no bernd can convince me that this is any good

>>25635623 It's not palace decor. I don't think anyone is going to be bothered. What do you think of Beowulf? Did he brag about how good of a swimmer he was too much for you?

>>25635649 i never read that. i think what makes the iliad so boring for me is that it is especially bland when compared to other classical greek literature. the odyssey was entertaining, fun and humorous and hat interesting characters. the story of heracles was entertaining, he had to rely on power, wits, and charme to achieve his goals while still being a demigod gigachad the entire time. then, in the iliad, it is pretty much just this back and forth happening for several years with no character development at all.
