How should I confirm that no one has been in my apartment when I'm out? Is it enough to put a piece of paper between the door? What method does Bernd use? I don't want to get surveillance cameras.

>>25631657 >Is it enough to put a piece of paper between the door? I thought about this too, but it's not failproof. I easily experience psychotic fits and I want to avoid going to the loony bin. I came to the conclusion that I'd need a camera, but I don't want to spend money on it. It also comes with a lot of added overhead I'd need to consider

programmable door lock make it log every opening additionally you might want to - make it emit extremely loud sounds if not closed for longer than 15 seconds - make it require a code to unlock from inside

there are some tricks like stacking some dice just behind your door, then leave through the almost closed door people will open the door wider, naturally, and wont be able to stack the dice in the same way they were before.

>>25631726 if you play mcgyver, you can take a pen, glue and a bead loosely fittin in the pen body, cut out a window on the pen body, so you can feel the location of the bead inside then glue the thing to the door handle you might want to choose a fitting handle before opening, you might want to put your finger on the bead, and if the handle was rotated, then bead would be movned

>>25631816 idk what you're implying under all those chains, but pretty much all smart locks allow for logging, so you can just use that one function to see when the door was used for seamlessness you can program some kind of Siri-station to beep the amount of hours since the last time it was opened on your entry, and then say "welcome back, master"

Tape the door at a certain angle to see if it was opened within a certain birth. Dust in a small area. Camera.

>>25631774 Sorry but how does that make any sense? The invader only has to stack the dice in any random way. You'll inevitably topple them again when entering the house, and then you won't know whether they were stacked like you left them. Only way to fix this would be to have a simple mechanism allowing you to enter the flat without touching the dice, but with nobody else knowing.

I had a blanket over my door to keep people from peeking in, and found the strings on the corner of it had to be brushed aside just right when closing the door to not get caught in it. I also had a game camera. I realize now that perhaps I am too paranoid, however I did manage to catch people by doing that.
