I played Quake3 as a 10yo kid on 56kb/s internet without a mousepad. I owned a mousepad but it looked like this, it was hard, uneven, small. So it was better to just not use it, and roll over desk surface. It wasn't until years later I learned that soft and big mousepads existed.

Diablo 1 is the superior game. Diablo 2 did improve on some of the good parts but turned it to 11 and that damaged the experience. Also the jungle chapter is just shit. Play DevilutionX and stay away from Diablo 2.
