Sometimes I imagine walking into those dark snowy woods, finding a tree to take a seat under and falling into a deep sleep. They wouldn't find my body until the next spring.

To die, to sleep— No more—and by a sleep to say we end The heartache, and the thousand natural shocks That flesh is heir to. ’tis a consummation Devoutly to be wish’d. To die, to sleep— To sleep—perchance to dream. Ay, there’s the rub! For in that sleep of death what dreams may come, When we have shuffled off this mortal coil, Must give us pause—there’s the respect That makes calamity of so long life. For who would bear the whips and scorns of time, The oppressor’s wrong, the proud man’s contumely, The pangs of disprized love, the law’s delay, The insolence of office, and the spurns That patient merit of the unworthy takes, When he himself might his quietus make With a bare bodkin? Who would fardels bear, To grunt and sweat under a weary life, But that the dread of something after death The undiscover’d country, from whose bourn No traveller returns, puzzles the will, And makes us rather bear those ills we have Than fly to others that we know not of?

>>25620535 Whose woods these are I think I know. His house is in the village though; He will not see me stopping here To watch his woods fill up with snow. My little horse must think it queer To stop without a farmhouse near Between the woods and frozen lake The darkest evening of the year. He gives his harness bells a shake To ask if there is some mistake. The only other sound’s the sweep Of easy wind and downy flake. The woods are lovely, dark and deep, But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep

>>25620586 Dying from the cold—specifically from hypothermia—is often described as a gradual process, with stages that can range from discomfort to a kind of eerie calm. At first, as the body loses heat, a person will feel extremely cold, shivering violently to try to generate warmth. This stage can be painful, with numbness and tingling in the extremities. As the body temperature drops further, shivering slows and eventually stops. Confusion and drowsiness set in, and many people experience a sense of warmth—sometimes leading them to remove their clothing (a phenomenon called paradoxical undressing). In the final stages, unconsciousness takes over, and breathing and heart rate slow until they stop. Some reports suggest that the last sensations might feel like drifting into sleep, which is why the idea of "falling asleep in the snow" has such a strong poetic and metaphorical appeal. It’s not a completely painless process, but the later stages are thought to be relatively peaceful due to the body's response to extreme cold. Does that answer your question?

Imagine the state they find you in next spring. It's best to travel to the northmost corner and permafrost and lay down to rest there. In this way your body will be preserved with dignity.
