I went swimming in a lake and some fish latched onto my big toe. Never been in a body of water bigger than my tub since.

Why do you want to live anyway? Are you stupid? Just swim without thinking, and if there are any jellos and you die it is what it is. Don't let fear stop you from enjoying the water.

For me it's the sea snakes. They're deadly and creepy.

Yes, swimming in deeper water is scary as fuck. When you can't even see the ground anymore and you are just in a wet, cold dark abyss, not knowing what could be right underneath you... it's the fear of the unknown plus you could easily drown anyway.

i live 200mts from the beach and one day i noticed one and kicked it underwater, suddenly i was surrounded by them. there were like 20, a friend shouted at me and told me to get away and go back to the shore
later they stranded and died, it must have been like 600 of them all around the coast, from little cunny medusas of the size of a coin, to big fucks around 1.5 or 2 mts of diameter

Only hot southern seas have that shit. Most dangerous things you can meet in normal seas are orcas - easily avoidable. Sharks too I guess but they mostly hunt at night and the dangerous ones are present only at the southern edges normal seas. Medusas that are somewhat dangerous only occur there as well and even they are no worse than bees or wasps. And its very hard to unintentionally touch small ones because when you're swimming the water pushes them away. And big ones are very visible and easily avoidable.
Sea is really far less dangerous than freshwater, there you have to deal with currents and murky water where may get your limb caught by something invisible underwater like a sunk tree root and drown, or hit an unexpected REALLY cold stream and have your muscle seize.
