Bernd is thinking of giving away his keyboard, with a microcontroller in it that injects malware onto a computer and sends the sensitive information on their computer to Bernd, giving passwords, browser data, etc. rate

You can just go to a store, buy a keyboard, place this inside it, and then return to store, and when someone else buys it they get fucked.

In times of 2FA passwords are almost useless. All things which could be interesting are hiding behind 2FA. If logged in from another country or area you usually get a notification for this.

>>25606107 Meh, it can steal 2fa key files stored on computer too. Just search for files with "2fa" on them, they are almost always unencrypted, I can take those too. But still many people don't have 2fa enabled still.

>>25606131 I do, but he might also have it browser data. Meh, there are many things one can do with it, could also download malware from be to work as a bit locker, or maybe one could search for compromising information such as if they watch CP and demand btc in exchange. I'm just theorizing, not an actual hacker. Also if you get passwords for Gmail you can reset most people's 2fa on most sites, but it depends obviously.

>>25606392 I don't know. I just feel like it'd be likely the person who gets the keyboard would be a boring person with no life and nothing of value to gain for you. It seems like you'd need to do it a few times on a few keyboards to get a really good target.
Bernd Mon, 10 Mar 2025 03:21:02 GMT No. 25606432
>>25606404 Well of course, not every target will be valuable, but that applies most things. In any case, you don't need an "interesting" person, most people have something about them one can make money from in some way.

>>25606096 This reminds me of how we had a thread (also made by SWE, maybe even the same) about being industry-grade refurbished HDDs for his NAS. A Bavarian-ball chimed in and said something about security concerns. The HDD controller could be flashed with malicious firmware. I accepted this as a viable threat scenario. Few weeks later I realized: Who says the HDDs I buy new on Amazon weren't returned by someone who flashed it and are sold by Amazon as new again? As far as I am aware retailers 'can sell goods' that were returned by the buyer for reasons within a short period after the purchase and don't have any flaws '''as new''' again. How do I know China doesn't buy a lot of hardware on Amazon DE flashes it with the China virus, returns it and buyer then buy that malicious stuff?
