I think you are not elite unless you program in assembly

You'll feel the pain when you try to do anything remotely complicated with rust.
ALl the rust trannies here just clone everything and problems weren't, because their elite systems programming consists of rewriting single-threaded user-facing applications in rust as part of their religious pennance to the Dickless God. but when you actually have to manage lifetimes with shared mutable pointers in asynchronous and multi-threaded code, you will change your tune.

It depends on what you're writing. If you're not writing kernels and the like, probably don't use a system language and make your life miserable.
Just make stuff. If you need a language because what you know best actually won't work, then worry about that.

I use Go at work, and I learned some Erlang to improve with distributed apps and Ocaml for compilers. I don't know where to move further.

well what do you want to make? I think that's far more of an important question to ask than what language you should learn.
