over the last few days, i've been thinking about how best to explain the feeling of “psychosis” and make it tangible for others. after all, this feeling or way of thinking is something very human. when i was younger <14 i used to love watching horror movies. i liked the feeling of being scared. the jump scares. the feeling that 'this could happen to me, too. any moment now.' at the same time these movies made me quite paranoid for a certain amount of time afterwards (minutes/hours afterwards). was that what i got out of it? self-induced mini-psychosis as a little kick? anyways, i think these feelings those movies induced were similar to what someone who experiences psychosis on an abstract level.

Many people like to feel scared from horror movies. The things that frighten me and fill me with dread are so much more real and mundane. I don't think fantastical things are nearly as horrific as reality, life, aging, and death.

>>25599992 That sounds more like anxiety spectrum to me. But I get it. It's hard to explain mental states to others.
