Americans can't make beer, so there's nothing to boycott.

have consumer led boycotts at country scale ever worked?
I see three big issues:
1) when something says made in us/uk/eu/china whatever, and its something a big more complex then corn, you never know where the components are made in. For example, let's say you have a microwave, it probably has:
- a plastic casing
- a glass plate
- something that spins said plate
- actual microwave producer thingy
- controls and related electrical and electronic circuits
- maybe even a chip
now if the microwave is made in country x; do you really know where all of its components came from? even if they are still from country x, do you know where the raw materials that where needed to create the component came from
2) b2b: most money that gets exchanged is b2b, not b2c
3) services are a lot harder to boycott than physical products. For consumer products, think about stuff like whatsapp where probably a lot of your friends are, or tinder / bumble . but again, b2b is a lot more important than b2c
4) people usually forget about it, have a hard time stinking to said boycott
that being said your intentions are noble, might i suggest a different approach: try to buy european when it makes sense
and by european, of course i mean made in EU, not made by foederati
