Sweetwater is fucking crazy. I've had the same "Sales Engineer" for 15 years. We talk about our lives sometimes. He has also gotten me deals before. They are known for their extreme brand of customer service

And no, this is not normal for America. Client advisors are a business-to-business thing. This is just a retail sales position.

You don't have to have a ring to be in a position with "engineer" in the name here. They could call McDolans workers Borgar Engineers.

It's an engineer who has switched to the dark side to sell stuff built by other engineers
That said I've literally sales engineered one time by actually reading a public tender, noticing an unusual scoring criteria (some stuff like had exponents on them lmao) and things were rated as bad/good/great with points allocated like 1-3-10 so for every scored item things I wrote and proved with evidence not only gave me 10 but pushed the goyslop big company bids to 3. I literally ENGINEERED the sale that time.

Have mercy with me, I dict.cc'd "Kundenberater" and chose the most normal sounding translation.
