Well he's not wrong. Programming and coding aren't much liked even by most men, not question about women. It's dull that either eats half your life, or you just sit around and barely do anything. It's also vidyagay-adjascent which is another turn-off. Since women are status-minded things, neither programming, nor fiddly physical labour is going to be attractive much. It's either nerd territory, or loser territory, often both.

Almost everyone I’ve ever worked with has a wife, including folks my age, if you want a gf/wife having a steady and well paying job is a tremendous leg up even if the job doesn’t develop your social skills
