Africa is a real mess in terms of logistics. No good natural ports, tons of massive waterfalls, rapids everywhere, dangerous animals, warlords that demand bribes, corrupt officials, that disgusting tzeetze fly, malaria. It'll be a miracle if anyone can conquer even a fraction of it and modernize it beyond what crumbling first world infrastructure is based off of.
