Why don’t we put more solar panels over parking lots? Especially here in the Sunbelt where our cities 1. We get a lot of sun, and 2. Our cities are covered in parking lots.

No. Stop bankrolling chinks.

>>25523376 Idiotic. Anything we do would bankroll chinks? That doesn't mean this doesn't save money, improve our space, and help the environment. Another big thing is grey water at least in public bathrooms would save gallons

Your local grid might not actually be able to support that much input. We have that problem in some areas with high private solar ownership. Accumulators are expensive, too. You will also notice that there are many with managed perspectives on this issue such as >>25523376 and >>25523404 that have been made to see energy policy as inherently ideological or a matter of cultural persuasion.

>>25523366 This doesn't make sense. Solar power plants are more cost-effective when they are large-scale; the bigger, the better. America has plenty of deserts.

>>25523366 It’s better to plant trees in parking lots for beauty. Or even remove them altogether and develop public transportation. The best place for solar panels is poor, desert lands with a high percentage of solar insolation.

It would be great for reducing urban heat island effect as well. Keeps our cities cooler in summer.

>>25523540 Self seeding sucks most of the time. When I plant forest trees, I manage to do about 40 per hour. The plants cost about 0.5€ per piece. Do the maths. BUT: You have to thin them out year after year to get a nice stable forest, in the end ca. 1% is left.

>>25523366 PV panels do nothing about infrared part of solar radiation, they re-radiate heat into environment, e.g. the parking space beneath. Better plant some trees, it would look nicer too.

The only downside I see is niggers. They'll be all over those doing niggerings if they aren't rural and well fenced.
