Pleaing not guilty means you force the prosecution to put in hours of work against you, which delays the court date, which means you have a higher chance of them dropping the case and walking free. Pleaing no-contest means he can appeal with a lawyer later and retry his case. I also think pleaing no-contest might give a chance to appeal your record or something idk im not a lawyer
