We need to discuss about religion and science on /int/. What does Bernd feel about religion and science? Does he have a firm belief that things like heliocentrism and macroevolution are real? Are those beliefs grounded on genuine proofs or just scientific consensus?

Is there anyone here competent in reading and interpreting molecular biology papers? Have practical experience working with proteins or gene tech?

knowledge: something with predictive value science: falsifiable method of finding knowledge religion: a vestige of evolutionary mechanism which kept children obedient and alive *dibs*

There are no proofs in science. Nor is there a consensus. Also you shouldn't have belief that a theory is true, only that it's better than another theory.

i dont really care for either, i just want results, fruits. science gives results, fruits. religion gives nothing. also religion doesnt make sense to me while many scientific stuff makes sense and is trivial to test and prove, for example you can literally see evolution/natural selection in experiments on bacterial culture

>>25490250 If you believe in heliocentrism you're an NPC. In reality there is no incorrect opinion on this. Since the universe is considered infinte, you can use the earth or the sun as a center point for our solar system and both options are correct. Heliocentrism is just easier to calculate, which is why most people go with it.

>>25490266 >science: falsifiable method of finding knowledge Not at all. Most scientific studies are made up and not replicable, this includes STEM. Ever notice science is always confirming the current socio-political trends and that scientific facts change roughly every 10 years?
