so basically in ancient times some person supposedly "proved" the earth was round and science just kinda ran with that.
fast forward to current year scientists invent increasingly insane theories to convince themselves that heliocentrism makes sense.

recent physics research from CERN suggest that most "dark energy" isn't real, but is actually in of itself fluctuations in spacetime itself. Which means the amount of matter we've observed/calculated is actually much more than there is, when considering special relativity's ability to warp spacetime
this was previously difficult to do because CERN didn't exist to demonstrate the spacetime warping and computers weren't powerful enough to do the calculations using variable (ie, non-constant/static) values for spacial dimensions

science changes periodically, that is it's nature as new tools are developed. But it's not much different than what Eienstien first proposed.

Fun fact: Heliocentrism and geocentrism are both legit since a "center point" in a limitless space is arbitary.
Heliocentrism is just easier to calculate so most people use it out of convenience.

I don't get why the dark matter is such a difficult concept to grasp. It's a phenomenon that challenges current theories. It's not like physics was working perfectly, and then to make things more exciting, physicists invented this dark matter concept.
