Thanks to ylilauta .mp4 threads for introducing this movie to me. I finally watched it a year ago. Felt like a spiritual experience. Just observing the world, I think I could do it forever.

Philipp Glass got me into the music that I'm listening to today, I believe. it would be a mistake to think that life is out of balance life is in perfect balance and there can be no other way its some hippie Jewish communist mental game that exploits the fantasy of the wise Hopi Indians injustice, oppression etc. it is a striking film to see though and in fact I saw Philip Glass twice live when I was a younger

Third one was disappointing, besides a couple moments of clever editing. Which, the best I could say, is that Reggio was intentionally creating something that went against Koyaanisqatsi. Worst, and more likely, is that he's simply a burnout-of-touch hippie. The second one felt like what should have been a mere segment of Koyaanisqatsi stretched into its own feature. Still good, mainly for Glass, but doesn't incite introspection.

i watched the movie while tripping on mushrooms 5 years ago. there was a scene in it where, iirc, security guards where dragging a homeless man off the street, it just broke something in me, and i cried like a bitch, first time in a decade or so
