The EU was formed to compete with the US. I don't think its fair to say it was formed to "screw" us. Its sort of a Putinesque take tbh. I do think we should move away from EU countries for other reasons, but I don't hold a grudge about trying to be competition; its clearly in their best interests to do so. We should respond in kind though and compete with greater vigor. The end result is the same.
