If you think about global policy in the past 30 years you will see that there is an increasing push for more security. It was really boosted by 9/11 but it started in late 90s, and reached absolute peak during covid. One of the reasons for that is that you cant make a rational argument for having less security. It is simply impossible for an emotional mind, which is what many people have, and all women. But even if you can't make such an argument too much security is still possible, because this is what state/oligarchy wants, because maximum security (prison) equals maximum control, and control = good. It is bad for business though, because business relies on having commercial advantage, which is usually a secret, which disappears when subjected to too much control. Trumpler is a businessman first, and he hates control freaks, which is most of the establishment. He also happens to be the right amount of unhinged to not rely on rationality at all, instead he fully operates on emotional level, and he's a pro there. He isn't even trying to bypass the rational block on too much security argument, instead he uses vengeance to direct the emotions of the masses towards the effects of having too much security, and gains power by doing so. He then engages in dismantling the security apparatus until it is bare bones, which is what is happening now. This will continue until some very very major non-secure happening.
