I played with a relative in 2018. I saw them once briefly since then but they had gotten older and too shy to speak. I have not spoken to a child since that year.

there's a group of girls in like middle school who come up and talk to me every now and then, they speak to me with tiktok nonsense speech and i reply in japanese or spanish, they think it's funny. this is because my university is right next to a school. i don't know how but they know my name. last time i saw them must've been 3 weeks ago.

My nephews at Christmas. I have zero access to little girls at my advanced age, and that's a good thing. Wouldn't want anyone getting the wrong idea.

Like 3 days ago at work, helping a boy who looked around 12 find something, which is part of my job.
I miss teaching karate to kids though. It was so much fun.
I actually was pretty hesitant at first to train with and then teach kids. Up until that point I only trained martial arts with adults.
But now that I am training in a new art with just adults, that childish enthusiasm and occasional silliness feels missing.
