Is there a way to find out if I injured my knee without X ray and such? I have kept myself from progressing weight in squats for a while because my right knee makes a cracking sound. It doesn't hurt but it feels like a ticket to snap city

try stretching all the leg muscles, the hamstrings, calves etc
try doing some bodyweight lunges, hindu squats, and legs extensions with no weight
this should help to rebalance the knee joint
