Is anyone else amazed how these american corporations like uber and its copies managed to scam the public into destroying the original taxi service, to replace it with their apps, but they have the same drivers that migrated, pretty much the same cars, only they have surcharging now so you can pay 30-50 euro for a taxi trip that used to cost 5-10 euro? How fucking stupid are people that they fell for it?

They did it by making owner operators renting a service, therefore reducing costs and having a nameless face.

I've never used Uber or Lift. I don't even have their apps on my phone.
The last Taxi I used was in 2015 I believe. It was from San Diego International Airport to Downtown

Which is good for the operator, which receives more of the profit and doesn't require a romenian businessman taking a large sum of the profit because they have a family monopoly on the taxi registration numbers.
Bernd is just mad that he can't scam anymore.

I had utterly awful experiences every time I entered a taxi. Uber and the like is cheaper and allows people to selectively work when they want for extra cash. There is a lot to bitch about American companies, but bemoaning the fall of traditional taxi services to uber is silly

Yeah they dismantled a lot of monopolies and duopolies only to destroy some jobs and change the market. Very clever

In America Cabs in urban areas were owned by shady foreigners that still charge more than the apps. Fuck them honestly. Who cares.
