VHS cameras are not being a hipster. VHS quality actually looks better and more nostalgic. What is more memorable? VHS footage or some shitty normal footage. We would all pick VHS.

No you didn't. They could filter out some artifacts, but you still had like 30-40(!!) pixels of color resolution per line. Horizontal brightness resolution was only about half of broadcast, too.

I hate VHS recordings so much. Pictures and analog film can be scanned at higher resolution, old movies are re-released on bluray and look great. There is nothing you can do if your only source is VHS, it just looks terrible.
