why does not Berlin follow the example of Wien when it comes to housing? minimum wage after taxes is like 1600€ in gaymany, most apartments that are adequate are around 1000-1500€. thats almost as bad as in Budapest. what does the city government do to address this issue? I have seen that in Berlin, Linke is winrar in the federal elections. Could they also win the local elections? If so do they have any plans to solve the housing crisis of Berlin?

Vienna doesn't have housing crisis because its population number has never recovered after WW1.

>>25501734 Not true. In 1950 an average Austrian used to live in 20m², in 1980 on 40m² and in 2020 60m². So you need 3 times the residential area. It's not that wild in Vienna, but still yhere is a shortage.

>>25501734 I dont think that this is the explanation. Berlin also had more population in 1910 than now, yet their housing situation is significantly worse than in Wien. Budapest has lost over 15% of its population in 40 years yet housing situation is much worse than in Wien or Berlin.

>>25501755 >Budapest has lost over 15% of its population in 40 years What happened? Suburbanization?

>>25501931 yeah. after socialism fell, many people left for the suburbs. too many.. so the suburban towns are lacking infrastructure now. >>25501951 I bet that helps a lot.

my friend live in berlin and was renovating a tenement flat and wanted to have a shower and his girlfriend a bathtub so he sent the plan to the local administration? or something like that later when they were doing the bathroom a girl with green hair came and said you can't have a bathtub and shower in one bathroom because it increases the price of the flat and they want the prices of flats to be for everyone and for Germans and shitskins and she sealed the bathroom so he changed the "plan" of the bathroom erasing the bathtub but install it anyway this is linke berlin
