AFD speeches in the Bundeshaus will be very entertaining now. Especially since they have double the amount of seats.

Everyone except the North wanted CDU+AfD. they could have easily made a coalition with the current numbers, for better or worse. Alas, alas, politicians dgaf, they prefer communism.

to me the abysmal results of FDP are the most disconcerting
the party that is most popular in the most advanced regions of Germany, like Frankfurt, Munich, and Stuttgart, managed to fuck up on some tactical issues
but again, with hindsight, the alliance with the left-wing parties was doomed from the start - it's just that FDP didn't manage to outmaneuver rival this time

AFD and CDUCSU can technically pass all the laws now? And if Merz doesn't comply and shifts to the left the AFD can attack him constantly.

AfD is just as economically liberal as the FDP.

Im not convinced of a CDU AFD colation. Im not sure Merz would have the backing of his entire Party for it. There are still many left elements in his party from the Merkel days and the firewall against the AfD is a very polarising topic.

I hope the SPD plays hard to get and forces Merz into a minority government, which would be a low-key black/blue coalition.
