My favorite example is the Recurrent Pharyngeal Nerve. It's a nerve that emerges from the brain, loops under the aortic arch right by the heart, and goes right back up to innervate the pharynx in the neck. This was fine when it first evolved in fishes because the brain, heart, and gills are all fairly close in fish. But in humans it's silly and an obvious holdover from our evolutionary history. And in giraffes it's fucking ridiculous. It's like 13ft of nerve to innervate a structure about a foot from the brain.
