It looks like when Russia established direct trade with England Sweden attacked Russia in attempt to cut the trade off and monopolize it as a middleman. The same happened when Russia started to trade with Prussia directly. Then Livonia (Estonia + Latvia) attacked it. The more I look the more clear it becomes that countries neighboring Russia always tried to monopolize trade with Russia and always acted against interest of Western countries - against interests of Germany, England, France.
