Basically, some jagoffs at the FDA redlisted a bunch of popular products last year and into this year, without a valid reason, just because they could. This creates problems with customs rejecting shipments. So, the stores have largely pulled back from doing business with the US. Now, I know how it feels to be a EU snuser.
Snus, particularly the tightly regulated Swedish snus, is among the most healthy alternatives to smoking. It's not about public health with these people, it's about telling you what to do. If they cared about your health, they wouldn't be impeding you from choosing healthier nicotine products.

According to available research data compiled by nordic health ministries there are no certain cancer risks at all associated with snus. There are yet to be proven slight concerns over oesophageal and pancreatic cancer which are very rare to begin with. No risk seen of oral cavity cancers what so ever. Someone has been feeding you lies.
Beyond this the cardiovascular risk factors are dose dependent, the same as with smoking.
