I ate horse sashimi in Japan once, but the raw meat didn't really taste like anything special. Similar to deer maybe.

When I worked in Wolfsburg at the Wochenmarkt they had a stand that sold horsemeat. I never got any. I did get the VW Currywurst right next to it with rooster sauce and French fries.
